Brief Description
NE1 3PG We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy online pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications Required
GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Training to be Provided
Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.
Future Prospects
This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.

About the role
As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping clients and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.
You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.
Key duties include:
Assist in the dispensing of medication and prescription preparation.
Provide excellent customer service over the phone to GPs and clients.
Order, receive, and store pharmaceutical stock accurately and efficiently.
Process incoming prescriptions and order new prescriptions when required.
Assemble blister packs under supervision and label prescriptions.
Safely dispose of expired or unused medicines following proper procedures.
Monitor and manage stock levels, replenishing supplies as needed.
Clean and organize stock areas, ensuring a tidy and professional workspace.
Verify incoming supplies, checking quantities against orders and reporting shortages.
Maintain high standards for quality, health, and safety, and customer service.
Use specialist computer software to ensure product levels and medication are stocked.
Complete all required training and professional development as part of the apprenticeship.
